Imperial Music Center Concerts

(9/24/2022) The Imperial Band of South River will hold their next concert on Sunday, October 9th (rescheduled date) at 2:00 PM. It takes place at the Imperial Music Center located at 48 Appleby Avenue, South River. A wide selection of music will be performed. All are welcome! Blue Cares Addiction Program

(9/4/2022) September is National Recovery Month. The South River Police Department is offering a reminder that If you or someone you know is battling substance abuse and addiction, recovery help is available through the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office "Blue Cares" program. Hunger Action Month

(9/2/2022) September is Hunger Action Month. REPLENISH, Middlesex County's hunger eradication program, is reminding residents of ways they can help. Additionally, Middlesex County Stop & Shop locations will be holding a food drive on Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. 9-1-1 Dispatcher Training Program

Blue Acres Program Update

(8/26/2022) Homeowners can now submit Blue Acres buyout applications online. The new portal allows homeowners to express their interest in a flood buyout. Printed applications can still be submitted by mail. For more information, visit the Blue Acres webpage.

Residents can now subscribe to the Blue Acres email list to receive updates and alerts about buyout progress, post-buyout land use, funding awards and availability, climate resilience planning resources, and related events in communities across the state.

Operation Blue Angel Program

(8/21/2022) The South River Police Department is reminding residents about their Operation Blue Angel program. This program allows police officers quick access to senior citizens and other eligible residents in the event of an emergency. For more information, view the Operation Blue Angel program webpage.

Drought Watch

(8/9/2022) The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Drought Watch as persistent dry and hot conditions continue to stress water supplies throughout the state. If conditions do not improve, declaration of a drought warning or a drought emergency with mandatory water use restrictions may become necessary. Voluntary conservation measures during a Drought Watch can help to avoid more serious and restrictive drought conditions.
