Safe Syringe Disposal

We work hard to ensure that all residents and employees are kept safe. Syringes and needles can pose a significant public safety risk and without proper disposal, can lead to dangerous accidents and long-term bodily harm.

Never dispose of syringes in ways you would typically dispose of trash. Collect syringes in a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved sharps container or into a heavy-duty plastic container such as a laundry detergent or bleach bottle. Close the screw-on lid and label the sealed container "Do Not Recycle - Contains Sharps."

You should then consult the New Jersey Safe Syringe Disposal Guide from the NJ Department of Public Health. Visit this guide or call 609-826-4941.
