About Us

The Planning Board is established and granted powers under South River Borough Ordinance. Some of the Planning Board's responsibilities include:

• Creating, adopting, and amending the South River Master Plan for the physical development of the municipality, including in its consideration areas outside its boundaries which may bear essential relation to the planning of the municipality.
• Preparing an annual program of municipal capital improvements and projects projected over a term of six years, and amendments thereto, and recommend same to the governing body.
• Reviewing applications for approval of subdivision plans, site plans or conditional uses and granting approval for same as allowed by new New Jersey laws.
