You will also need a copy of your lease to activate a utility account. When your account is closed, your deposit, if greater than the utilities due, will then be refunded. Payment is accepted by cash, check, or money order. |
If your Electric or Water Utilities
are shut off for non-payment, the following applies:
1. All open balances on electric
and / or water accounts are due and payable at this time.
2. There is a reconnection fee of $50 before 2PM and $125 after 2PM for electric, and $50 before 2PM and $125 after 2PM for water
3. Only cash, money order, CREDIT CARD, or certified funds will be accepted. No
Personal Checks.
4. During normal business hours, 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM, payment is accepted
only at the Municipal Building, 48 Washington Street.
5. After normal business hours, 4:15 PM, payment (CASH only) is accepted at the
Police Station, 61 Main Street. Police Dispatchers will collect the
money in full, and the Police will call the Utility Department to turn
on the utilities. Any questions you have can only be answered by the
Utility Office during normal business hours.
6. IMPORTANT, if your electric is turned
off for any reason, the Electric Department will not turn on your electric
until your main circuit breaker is turned off. This is done for safety
reasons, both yours and ours.
